This Vanilla Flan Cake Bakes in one Baking Pan!
Don’t freak out but Yes, this bakes together in one pan coming out with perfect layers! We will layer caramel on the bottom then the flan mixture then the sponge cake batter and bake them for 40 minutes in a bain-marie the results are amazingly delicious.
Can I substitute the Condensed milk for Sugar?
No, actually you can’t since the condensed milk makes the Flan super creamy, but if you can’t find some, where you are, or it’s a bit expensive like here in Egypt you can always make it at home, try making my Homemade Condensed Milk recipe.
Step By Step Instructions
Start by making the caramel, place the water and sugar in a saucepot and let it boil WITHOUT mixing be patient and let it boil until it becomes a lovely amber color.
Have your baking pan ready (normal or bundt cake pans) next to you so when the caramel is ready you pour it quickly.
Now start with the flan mixture, add the condensed milk, eggs, and vanilla, and mix.
Then add the milk and mix, leave this mixture aside until you make the cake.
5. Now in a bowl add your egg yolks, sugar, milk, oil, and vanilla and mix.
6. Then add your flour and baking powder and mix until just incorporated (don't over mix)
7. Now in another clean bowl add your egg whites and whip for 2 minutes.
8. Then start adding your sugar little by little until it forms a firm peak like meringue.
9. Then add some of the meringue to the egg yolk batter and mix well.
10. Then fold in gently the rest of the meringue until well combined.
11. Now to assemble add the Flan mixture on top of the hardened caramel. You will hear some cracking but don't worry about it.
12. Add the cake batter.
13. Place your baking pan in another bigger one and fill it with hot water. Bake for 40 minutes.
14. Once it cools leave it in the fridge for at least 2 hours before flipping it and enjoying it.

Ingredient
¼ cup of Water
¾ cup of Sugar
2 cans of Condensed Milk
6 Large Eggs (or 8 medium ones)
1½ tablespoon of Vanilla
800 ml. Milk
4 egg yolk
¼ cup Sugar
¼ cup of Milk
¼ cup of Oil
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 cup Flour
1 tsp. Baking Powder
4 egg whites
1/3 cup of sugar
Instructions
Start by making the caramel, in a saucepan add the water and sugar without stirring, let it become caramel. Place in your baking pan.
Then make the flan by, adding the rest of the ingredients in a blender, leave it aside.
Now for the sponge cake, in a bowl add the egg yolks, sugar, milk, oil, vanilla, and mix well. Then add the flour and baking powder and mix.
In another clean bow add the egg whites and start whipping, after two minutes start adding the 1/3 cup of sugar little by little until it becomes a meringue. Last food in the egg whites to your batter gently but well.
Now to assemble add the flan mixture on top of your caramel then add the cake batter, place this pan inside of another one filled with hot water and bake for 40 minutes.
Let this cool down then leave in the fridge for at least 2-3 hours, before flipping it.
