All About Me

I come from a family which loves food, I even have some chefs in my family, so cooking and baking being a passion of mine is not something weird. Then got married into a family which loves food, lots of food! An Arabic Egyptian family. I even have a written certificate from when I was in Kindergarten, saying that when I grow up I want to be a chef 😂

Me and my family traveled to Egypt when I was 15 where I studied Arabic and Quran memorization. After a year of living in Egypt, I got married to my Egyptian husband Ahmed, it was after getting married that I started learning how to really cook and bake, because before that my mom was always telling us :

“you will die with a book in front of you”

Meaning we will die studying, so it was always study, study, study, and more studying. Which I’m grateful for, I’m currently a 3 bio lingual speaker, 2 of the English and Spanish I speak natively and Arabic almost natively since I’ve been married for over 10 years with someone who doesn’t speak a word in English or Spanish.

Well, I’m pretty sure all of us girls cooked some terrible dishes when starting to learn how to cook, but I’m sure not worse than what I cooked when I started. I was literally alone when I started and since I started with very minimal knowledge (like how to make rice and how to peel garlic 😂 because that was the only thing my mom would let me do) I had to learn by myself when my husband was working. So since It was always my dream to be a chef I did my best but made some terrible dishes along the way. After several years (5 years), I finally realized that I liked what I was cooking.
